Lions fire Caldwell after four seasons

The Detroit Lions fired head coach Jim Caldwell on Monday morning despite having winning seasons in three of his four campaigns. The Lions missed the playoffs twice in the past three years, including this season when they went 9-7. General manager Bob Quinn informed Caldwell that he will not be returning, the Lions announced.
